Will’s yoga journey began 20 years ago as a desperate search to alleviate chronic back pain. After basically flunking out of Iyengar and other schools of yoga, and when surgeries, Meds and other interventions were ineffective, his wreckage somehow washed ashore at Bikram yoga. Gradually, not magically, the days of laying on the floor gave way to movement! Eventually, the long-distance hiking, the bicycling and the climbing came back. And yet, as he is always reminded, and reminds his students: No injury is ever fully healed and thus must forever be respected and tamed.
For several years, while deployed as a civilian pilot, Will operated his own totally-free studio bringing hot yoga to troops and contractors stationed in Afghanistan. A graduate of Ashland Yoga’s 200-hour Yoga Alliance Teacher Certification, he is a regular Bikram practitioner and also currently studies and practices partner yoga with both people and dogs.
